The German-American Bund was a NAZI front organization active in the US during the 1930s.

It was outlawed following our entry into the war in 1941.

CAIR, the Councial on American Islamic Relations is the German-American Bund of our generation. They're unabashed apologists for the Jihadists and agile exploiters of our freedoms.

Fortunately, they're not that agile.

According to this article titled "We have right to know truth about CAIR", by Mychal Massie at WorldNetDaily, their spokesman, Ibrahim Hooper, can't take the heat very well.

Conventional wisdom would dictate if you, your group-organization and/or religion as a whole were viewed with contempt by some, skepticism by many and distrust by nearly all, it would be prudent to try to diffuse ill-will.

But said logic is not part of a reasoned thought process when it comes to the Council on American-Islamic Relations – at least, it doesn't appear to be part of Ibrahim Hooper's, their director of communication.

Appearing on my talk show "Straight Talk with Mychal Massie," Mr. Hooper displayed the character of a petulant child as he feigned indignation so as to cut short the interview that would have forced him to articulate the truth of his position.

In less than five minutes of air time, the person responsible for putting forth a favorable presentation of CAIR hung up, leaving the audience with nothing to warrant a change in opinion of him, his organization or his religion.

First, it is ironic that Google's ad engine would detect the term "islam" in my post and send Islamic dating services my way. Good eye Mr. Anonymous, if that's your real name. In fact, I see these ads as a kind of public service. If some lonely Jihadist can get hooked up via my site, then maybe he can redirect some of that sexual frustration into something more productive than blowing himself up in a crowded train. Anyway, have you seen some of these guys? If they can get a date any other way except via e-mail, then I'm the Grand Caliph.

However, I gotta say, I really appreciated the cleverness of Mr. Anonymous' last comment. That must be the first time I've heard anyone on the left use the "fascist" label to attack those of us who are smarter, faster and more perceptive than they are.

The left likes to use that word, but I don't think they really understand what it means.

Here's the Dictionary.com definition:

1. A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.

2. A political philosophy or movement based on or advocating such a system of government.

My Fourteen Points are a recipe for conducting a war where we know the enemy is among us and hiding within the Islamic subculture in North America.

The Fourteen Points say nothing about "centralized authority". Our constitutional process would continue, but we'd have to reach back to the internment of Japanese Americans during WWII for justification, Bill Clinton's apology notwithstanding.

Where among my points is there any mention of "stringent socioeconomic controls"? Nowhere. I'm a friend of the free-market.

What about "suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship"? Wrong again. I might think they're treasonous, but Durbin, Moore and Kerry can keep on talking. So can Cindy Sheehan.

Finally, where's the "belligerent nationalism and racism"? There isn't any. Islam is not a race. And if someone out there thinks my disdain for the Arabs is racist, I'll have you know my DNA is probably closer to that of the residents of Gaza than it is to those of Crawford, Texas.

Finally, I'm certainly a nationalist, but a non-belligerent one. We're only fighting this war because they Jihadists attacked us.

So, lefty dimwits, read the dictionary.

I watch, with increasing frustration, the politically correct flailing of our government and public officials in the face of the Islamic threat.

I believe in civil liberties, but not in civil suicide.

Isalam does not deserve the protections offered enlightened religions under our constitution. First, Islam is a philosophy, not a race. So, attacks on profiling are meaningless. Second, its tenets with regard to non-believers are more akin to the vengeful and intolerant "theology" of Nazism than to the enlightened acceptance preached by Jews, Christians, Bhuddists, Hindus, Zoroastrians and others.

A good place to learn more about our enemies is at Jihad Watch. To witness how readily the West seems to subjugate its values to Islam, see their sister site at Dhimmi Watch. A reguar reading of these sites is a frightening look into the moral abyss that is Islam.

Any study of Islam reveals an ideology steeped in the philosophy of violent Jihad. Jihad does not mean some internal struggle of the soul towards enlightenment. Rather, it is clearly defined as the unshakable obligation of each and every Muslim to make war, physical war, against the non-believer, offering him three choices: acceptance of Islam; subjugation, and the payment of a poll tax, "jizya", as a second-class member of society; or death.

Is that clear enough? You can join them, be a virtual slave or DIE!

Although we often hear of moderate Muslims, what does this mean? It means we are speaking of muslims who know little of their fath. Jihad is as much a part of Islam as the Holy Trinity is a part of Catholicism.

In this country, as in other western nations, we are surrounded by enemies of the Republic: Wahabist chaplains in the military; the Council on Islamic-America relations (CAIR); Islamic terror front groups; ACLU apologists; who sabotage our attempts to protect oursleves and our children; Al-Qaeda cells; the loony left of the Democratic Party; treasonous members of Congress, including John Kerry, who undermine our war efforts. All of these enemies of America are the willing dupes of the purveyors of Jihad.

My patience has run out. I'm ready for extreme measures to defend our lives and property.

With the spectre of bomb blasts in London, and every likelihood that Muslims in this country are planning the same, or worse, in our streets, the time has come to accept that Islam is the problem.

Islam today is evil. There has been no reformation, no emergence of a strong movement for positive change to align Islam with the values of the West. To do so would destroy the essence of the faith. What good Muslim could accept that?

Those who call themselves Muslims are, if not guily, deserving of our suspicion.

My first preference would be the conquest and forced conversion to Christianity of the Muslim world. You might ask why I, as a Jew, suggest converting them to Christianity? Because I believe there are enough good Christians in this world to hold the bastards down while they learn to behave.

In the meantime, we need to defend our own shores against the Islamic hordes, many of whom are already here.

Therefore I make the following declaration:

Whereas:

The United States is engaged in a war against Islamic terrorists conducting a Jihad against the whole of western civilization.
These Islamic terrorists cannot function without Islamic state sponsorship in the form of funds, sanctuary and moral support.
Jihad is an integral part of Islamic theology as evidenced by the text of the Koran, numerous Hadiths, interpretations and extensions of the Koran, as well as the repeated pronouncements of modern-day Islamic jurists and religious authorities.
While Islam calls out for “peace” and “equality, these refer only to the peace of Islamic worldwide hegemony and equality among Muslims.
No Islamic authority, in any western nation, has unconditionally condemned Islamic terrorism. All such pronouncements decry attacks against “innocents” but, according to Islamic law, no non-believer who has refused to accept Islam is innocent.
Since any act in the furtherance of Islamic hegemony is allowed, no statements by Muslims should be unconditionally believed.
We are now engaged in a war to the death against an Islamic culture under the domination of Jihadists and our war against Islamic terror is no less than a war against the fundamental s of Islam itself.

We Resolve:

That, in order to protect our nation, and our civilization, from the depredations of Islam, we should act according to the following principles:

A declaration that Islam is a political ideology and is not subject to the religious protections afforded under the Constitution of the United States.
Suspension of the security clearances of all Muslim employees of the federal government.
The ending of Muslim chaplain services in the US military, and throughout the federal government, including the prison system.
A declaration that any use of weapons of mass destruction against the United States by Islamic terrorists will be met by an immediate nuclear strike against Mecca and Medina.
In the event of a major Islamic terrorist attack within the United States, the internment of Muslim citizens for their own protection.
Indefinite imprisonment of any suspected member of any organization that engages in, supports or condones terrorism anywhere in the world.
Confiscation of all property of any convicted member of any organization that engages in, supports or condones Islamic terrorism anywhere in the world.
Ending all Muslim immigration into the United States, from any country.
Suspension of all immigration, regardless of religious affiliation, from any member state of the Arab League.
Loyalty oaths for all federal employees wherein they must declare their allegiance to the constitution of the United States of America and swear adherence to Judeo-Christian ethics.
Loyalty oaths for all state, county and municipal employees as a condition for receipt of federal funds.
Deportation of all Muslims who are not US citizens.
A Muslim, not a citizen of the United States, who violates US immigration law will be imprisoned indefinitely.
Withdrawal of the United States from the United Nations and the eviction of that organization from their headquarters in New York City.

First Post in a While

It's been a long time since I posted. The election push and a new job pretty much exhausted my blogging energies.

Anyway, enough personal stuff.

I'm writing this from Israel. Tel Aviv to be exact. For seven years this was my home and I like to think I know this country pretty well. It's been two-and-a-half years since my last visit and it's easy, in that time, to forget the details of life here.

Israel's a fascinating mix of secular and religious; rich and poor; third-world construction and world-class high tech companies; west and east; freedom and socialism.

It really is a miracle the place exists at all.

Life here is still tough, as much due to the daily fight to get what's yours in this competitive, crazy mediterranena society as to security and economic challenges.

If you want a taste of dealing with Israel, then read on as I present a little dialogue I like to call "Cold Soup".

COLD SOUP

Setting: A cafe in the heart of Tel Aviv. You order soup. The waiter brings it and sets it in front of you. You take a spoonful. It's cold.

YOU: Waiter, this soup is cold.

WAITER (From across the room): No it's not.

YOU: Yes it is! It's completely cold.

WAITER (Approaching): It's fine!

YOU: What are you talking about? This soup is stone cold. If you don't believe me, then taste it yourself.

WAITER (Tasting): You didn't eat it quick enough.

YOU: But you just brought it to me not a minute ago.

WAITER: No I didn't.

YOU: Yes you did! I saw you. You brought it right over and put it on the table.

A slight pause.

WAITER: It's not supposed to be hot.

YOU: This is chicken soup. Chicken soup is supposed to be hot! Look at this. All the fat's solidified and floating on the top.

WAITER (Looking): That's not fat. That's special seasonings from the middle east.

YOU (exhasberated): Look, just bring me a fresh bowl of hot soup.

WAITER (Shrugging): I can't. I don't work here.

THE END

It's this ability to deny reality that's the key to Israeli success in the face of insurmountable odds.

To honor our warriors, I'm reprinting a piece sent to me by a very liberal friend. There's always hope that they'll see the light.

WHAT IS A VET

Some veterans bear visible signs of their service: a missing limb, a

jagged scar, a certain look in the eye. Others may carry the evidence

inside them: a pin holding a bone together, a piece of shrapnel in the

leg - or perhaps another sort of inner steel: the soul's ally forged

in the refinery of adversity. Except in parades, however, the men and

women who have kept America safe wear no badge or emblem. You can't tell a vet just by looking.

What is a vet?

He is the cop on the beat who spent six months in Saudi Arabia

sweating two gallons a day making sure the armored personnel carriers

didn't run out of fuel.

He is the barroom loudmouth, dumber than five wooden planks, whose

overgrown frat-boy behavior is outweighed a hundred times in the

cosmic scales by four hours of exquisite bravery near the 38th

parallel.

She or he-is the nurse who fought against futility and went to sleep

sobbing every night for two solid years in Da Nang.

He is the POW who went away one person and came back another-or didn't

come back AT ALL.

He is the Quantico drill instructor who has never seen combat-but has

saved countless lives by turning slouchy, no-account rednecks and gang

members into Marines, and teaching them to watch each other's backs.

He is the parade-riding Legionnaire who pins on his ribbons and medals

with a prosthetic hand.

He is the career quartermaster who watches the ribbons and medals pass

him by.

He is the three anonymous heroes in The Tomb Of The Unknowns, whose

presence at the Arlington National Cemetery must forever preserve the

memory of all the anonymous heroes whose valor dies unrecognized with

them on the battlefield or in the ocean's sunless deep.

He is the old guy bagging groceries at the supermarket-palsied now and

aggravatingly slow-who helped liberate a Nazi death camp and who

wishes all day long that his wife were still alive to hold him when

the nightmares come.

He is an ordinary and yet an extraordinary human being-a person who

offered some of his life's most vital years in the service of his

country, and who sacrificed his ambitions so others would not have to

sacrifice theirs.

He is a soldier and a savior and a sword against the darkness, and he

is nothing more than the finest, greatest testimony on behalf of the

finest, greatest nation ever known.

So remember, each time you see someone who has served our country,

just lean over and say Thank You. That's all most people need, and in

most cases it will mean more than any medals they could have been

awarded or were awarded.

Two little words that mean a lot, "THANK YOU."

Remember November 11th is Veterans Day.

press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of

speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us

the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, who salutes the flag,

I also wanted to include this wonderful picture from Fallujah to wish the US Marines a Happy 229th Birthday. One of the finest officers I've ever known was my Company Officer at the Naval Academy. He was Major Tim Hannigan, USMC. If any of you know him, give him my best.

I Must Be Doing Something Right

I don't mind losing, but I sure hate losing to the likes of you. America deserves better representatives than your side has to offer. Keep believing your own propaganda, if people like you ever wake up, you'd have to commit suicide!

I'm not sure, but her "gloat" comment must refer to Admiral Van Orden's piece. Hey lady, he paid his dues and has every right to shout his joy from the rooftops.

I must admit, however, that the gentle, reasoned tone of her message makes a mockery of my shrill invective. Harridan!

Look, I view the left as enemies of freedom. They couch their philosophy in feel-good rhetoric and the fuzzy imagery of a false compassion, but all it really adds up to is condescension towards those they purport to fight for and legalized theft from the rest of us.

Just think about the hysteria that's been raised by the Republican victory. The red states are "dumb", "ignorant", "dependent" and "uneducated". Why, if they'd only listened to the old line media more often they couldn't help but see the light.

The only national discourse acceptable to the left is one where everyone agrees with their agenda. All this talk of "no mandate" is a codeword for dispensing with ideological principle and forcing uniformity. After all, there's only one correct path. Reminiscent of the Soviet Union's practice of putting dissidents into psychiatric hospitals, because anyone unhappy under socialism must be sick, the left now opines that anyone who disagrees with them must be brain damaged.

I'm intolerant towards the left for the same reason I'm intolerant towards Islamofascists: because there is no real compromise.

A Defeat Well Deserved!

This post only reinforces my conviction that the Republic was done a great service by its citizens when we defeated John Kerry, and all he represents, at the polls.

We've beaten back the barbarians. We've got every right to revel in the victory.

PARDON ME WHILE I GLOAT

I am not normally a cheerful loser or a gracious winner. Whether its tiddly-winks or war at sea, I want to win, win, win! In fact, I hate to lose and when I win I sometimes want to rub the loser's nose in his defeat. After a sleepless night I feel just rotten enough that the past six months of lies and innuendos from the Kerry camp have it all come home to make me more vindictive than usual. As a result, I want to gloat. Here's why:

I am happy that the sound common sense of a majority of America's voters resulted in a solid victory for a true patriot-and in the humiliating defeat of a lying traitor. There was no doubt in my mind that Bush's truthfulness and forthrightness would prevail against the lies and half-truths of Kerry and his supporters, and I am pleased that a majority of good folks saw the light and pushed the Bush/ Cheney button for justice and for increasing support for the nation's bright future.

I am pleased that the left-leaning media-newspapers, radio, TV and newsmagazines-got their bell rung, but good. Now we are assured that these self-appointed "opinion makers" cannot pull the wool over the eyes of most of us, no matter how hard they twist the facts. Their early reporting of the "leaked" fraudulent exit polls, and their sponsorship of other badly skewed voter polls were designed to mislead voters, in which they failed-miserably. And Dan Rather deserves a special place in hell.

I am delighted that the fat, disgusting a-hole, Michael Moore did not achieve the success that he wished for and that he was repulsed by so many intelligent Americans. May his soul burn in hell.

I hope the Hollywood friends of Michael Moore-especially Barbara Streisand, Whoopi Goldberg, P-Diddler, and their friends-are roasting in the hell of their own making. It seems to me that they all offered to depart the U.S. if Bush won the first time, which they did not do. The time is now doubly ripe for their exit.

I am blissful that all the treasure and invective of George Soros devoted to defeating George Bush went for naught. I only wish for a financial future of similar poor decisions by Soros; I want to see him as bankrupt in bank account as he is in patriotism.

I find it particularly satisfying that the high ranking military suck-ups whose lack of integrity led them to desert their commander-in-chief and follow a lying cheat, even though they knew, or should have known, that his dismissal from the Navy was "less than honorable," as detailed in the military record that he refused to release. It is sad that such Navy types as Bill Crowe, Stan Turner, and even Jimmy Carter would be in that group. It is obvious that their motivation was the hope of a cushy job when their new-found knight in shining armor moved into the White House. Even their strategy was flawed, for Kerry is, and always has been, anti-military; he only used his military service-and those military "advisors"-for personal political gain. He would never have offered that cushy job, once he had used them, just as he never voted for the needed armament that they and their shipmates and their Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force brothers-in-arms needed so badly.

I am thrilled that the whiners who have complained bitterly about the "stolen" 2000 Presidential election must leave that fallacy in the past and now try to find something else to whine about-maybe they can even develop a fantasy that the four million vote plurality was a miscount, and continue their whining as they slink away into their caves.

It pleases me that Kofi Annan and the other United Nations sycophants failed miserably when they tried so hard to influence this election to ensure that a more pliable President Kerry would be elected. I hope they will now realize that either they clean up the bureaucratic, corrupt, do-nothing UN, or they will be short of funds when the Bush-led US decreases-or ends-its support.

I am overjoyed at the failure of Osama bin Laden's carefully timed video of invective against the US and its President in hopes of using Islamic scare tactics on the American people. Bin Laden's aim was to entice our voters to elect a new President who will not be as robust in his pursuit of terrorists and more willing to "negotiate" with Islamic Fundamentalists. He did not understand that Americans are not so panicky as the French, fearful as the Spanish, or unthinking as the English. (As for the Germans, they should know better; we have defeated them in battle often enough to convince them of the rightness of our ways.) I hope Osama dies in a blast from a bunker-buster before he gets a chance to make another video or another attack on our nation.

The blatant attempts of European nations and the EU to cause our President discomfort in his efforts to bring peace to the world make me glad that they are so disappointed with the election results. My joy is unbounded at the chagrin of the French and German and other anti-Bush, anti-American nations (including the people of the UK-but not their loyal and faithful government led by Prime Minister, Tony Blair). Now let those U.S.-sheltered Europeans worry about the end of American financial and military assistance when they have problems. Let them beg for American military aid and other handouts that have helped to sustain their economies. And let them perish in their own sweat when we remove out troops from Germany, the Balkans, and other trouble spots where we have pulled their chestnuts out of the fire.

I relish the hope that Islamic fundamentalists will now understand the election result as a blow from which they cannot recover. It fills me with joy that their dreams of world domination will be shattered by Bush's and the American nation's resolve to see them defeated and sent to join their Allah-without the 72 virgins waiting for them.

It pleases me more than I can say that the Senate Minority Leader, Thomas Daschle lost his seat. As the leading obstructionist for the Democrat party, he was primarily responsible for withholding approval of many Bush appointments to Federal judgeships, high-level positions, and other necessary personnel. Good riddance.

The demise of the junk-yard dog, loudmouth James Carville, also brings me great happiness. That happiness is further enhanced by the victory of the first Republican to win a Senate seat in Louisiana, Carville's home state.

I am delighted with the success of John O'Neil and his Swift Boat Vets-and with those thousands of non-Swifties who joined with them-on their forthright revelation of the truth of Kerry's service in Vietnam. They took a truthful but difficult position and made an impact-good and honorable Navy men all. Bush gets gentlemanly credit for not using them and their data in his campaign to demean Kerry, but the word was out that they spoke the truth. I maintain that they were the MVPs of this election; their testimony turned the tide against Kerry, and he never recovered.

And, finally, I must express my unbounded gratification at the defeat of Senator Kerry, a worthless Senator, anti-military extremist, lying self-promoter, and former Naval officer who disgraced us all. His traitorous collusion with the enemy is second only to that of Jane Fonda. He should have been court-martialed for giving aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war. His dishonorable quest for medals and a quick return to the US, where he turned against his shipmates and lied about their actions resulted in a less than honorable separation from the Navy. Jimmy Carter's amnesty allowed him to file for, and get, an honorable discharge 18 years after he left the service. He should have received a court martial.

While my thoughts may seem to be mean-spirited, do not be confused-they really are mean-spirited, as I mean them to be. I have suffered the tortures of the damned over the past year as I heard and read the lies and nasty remarks from politicians, citizens, and media "experts" about our President. I have barely tolerated the feeble but divisive attempts of foreign and domestic peaceniks to build a case against our war on the Islamic fundamentalists, who use terrorism as a weapon against us in order to intimidate out citizens and drive some of our gutless politicians to seek "negotiations" to avoid "confrontations" with those who seek to kill our citizens.

Most of all, I have seethed with anger at those who shamefully derided out military, blissfully reporting on their failures and neglecting their successes. They triumphantly celebrated our difficulties by running daily body counts of our own heroic men killed in battle with the enemy, even publishing their pictures in papers and on TV as if to mock the President who sent them to defend our nation. I have only disgust for such tactics. And those are the very same people who now plead for "united actions" in the House and Senate, now that they are in a steadily declining minority. I would advise our President to "watch your six" because these are really enemies and they are not to be trusted.

We didn't let you do it the first time, more than 30 years ago, and John Kerry defiled your honorable service anyway. Now the victory is yours and you can return to your lives having seen a renewed nation finally repudiate the traitors of the anti-war, anti-military, anti-American left.

As for uniting the nation and healing the wounds. The liberal left can go to hell. I would no more try to compromise with them than I'd willingly engage in a civil discussion of the Nuremberg Laws with a Nazi in 1933.

Democratic pollster Mark Mellman, in the latest edition of The Hill, seems to be laying the groundwork for excusing a Kerry defeat.

Based on all factors, economic, security and the Bush team's popularity numbers, he admits to the strength of the President:

So while Bush faces formidable obstacles, not the least of which is Kerry himself, the senator also faces a strong candidate. Bush is weaker than some other incumbents but much stronger than those who have been defeated.
In fact, he admits that "an expert forecasting model suggests that Bush will get 51.6 percent of the two-party vote".

All this from a very partisan voice. According to his bio, "Mellman is president of The Mellman Group and has worked for Democratic candidates and causes since 1982, including Sen. John Kerry this year".

John Kerry's Dishonorable Discharge, Part IV, Final

Well, Thomas Lipscomb has published what will have to be the final word before we go to the polls tomorrow regarding John Kerry's military discharge.

Even if all the evidence points to a less-than-honorable, it's still circumstantial until Kerry releases his records by signing a Form 180. It's a pretty sure bet he won't do that.

So, don't expect any of the mainstream media to pick up on this.

OK, it seems Dishonorable Discharge is probably not the right title. Kerry could only have received one of those if he was court-martialed and convicted, which would be part of the public record. However, he most likely received a less-than-honorable discharge.

Earl Lively, a 30+ year veteran of the military makes a convincing case here. You may remember that Colonel Lively was the Director of Operations at Texas Air National Gaurd Headquarters when Bush served.

His contention, as was mine in an earlier post, is that the Navy is "stonewalling" the release of documentation that would incriminate Kerry to cover up its own institutional complicity in protecting him under Carter.

The Navy doesn't want to admit it succumbed to political pressure to restore honors stripped from a discredited turncoat. In hiding the truth, the Navy Department dishonors even the lowest-ranking sailor who ever swabbed a deck.

One of his key points is the confusion, compounded by Kerry's own disingenuous explanations, surrounding the reissue of his medal certificates. Kerry's version of events just does not ring true.

Senator Kerry has said that his medal certificates were reissued because he lost them (and his dog ate his homework, I suppose). Rewards are certified in one's permanent personnel record jacket. If you lose a medal, you can get a replacement medal if your records show the award. The only way awards would have to be reissued is if they were rescinded and deleted from your records. And this narrows the possibilities down to a dishonorable discharge or an undesirable discharge.

It will be a tragedy if we allow this man to be elected.

There's been a lot of confusion, side-stepping and odd silences regarding John Kerry's departure from the Navy.

The Navy Chief who's been pursuing this doggedly is quietly toiling away. A DC rally addressing this issue, scheduled for today, Sunday, has been canceled. The Swift Vets and POWs For Truth are silent.

I have spoken with Don Nelson, as well as the Swift Vets, and can vouch for the authenticity of the original letter posted here. As for the truth, there's an all-out effort to get at it and present it with every "t" crossed amd every "i" dotted so the story holds up against the inevitable Kerry/Edwards smear campaign.

We'll just have to wait for Tom Lipsomb, the New York Sun reporter that broke this story, to do his work.

As a passionate believer in the Swift Vet mission, all I can say is "hurry it up, 'cause there ain't much time left".

Kerry is one of the greatest threats to our national security and integrity since Reconstruction. His collusion with our enemies, sympathy for anti-American institutions around the world and opposition to any application of American power would do incalculable damage to the United states and the cause of freedom everywhere.

Let's hope we don't miss an opportunity to reveal Kerry for what he is by being too cautious.

Through a very reliable source, I received a copy of the following e-mail to Sean Hannity asking his help in exposing the truth about John Kerry's discharge papers from the US Navy. The author is a retired former Navy lawyer and he references the former personal lawyer to then Secretary of the Navy J. William Middendorf.

If these two gentlemen can shed light on the truth of John Kerry's record, then the American people have a right to know.

Subject: Fw: THE JIMMY CARTER LEGACY CONTINUES

I was on active duty as a U.S. Navy lawyer when all of this was going on some 25 to 30 years ago, and so was Mark F. Sullivan, who at all relevant times was the personal lawyer to J. William Middendorf, then the Secretary of the Navy. We remember.

We are trying to break this absolutely true story nationwide, i.e., Fox News, C Span, and hopefully all the major networks. We are positive that John Kerry was one of those dishonorably dismissed from the Navy for collaborating with the Viet Cong, after he was released from active duty but still in the Navy, and for a totally unauthorized trip to Hanoi. He later got an "honorable" separation in 1978, some 12 years after joining the Navy, under President Carter's "Amnesty Program" for draft dodgers, deserters, and other malcontents who fled to Canada and Holland, among other places, to avoid military service to our country.

This is why he has refused, and continues to refuse, to release all of his Navy records: they reflect that he was Dishonorably Dismissed from the United States Naval Service. If they do not (which they do), he would have released them to the public. Again, he has not done so, because he well knows that the truth would kill his challenge to President Bush.

John Kerry seems to have made a fetish of odd hand gestures during the campaign. First is his Thai style, hands-clasped, beatific grin, may-the-moon-shine-upon-our-happy-gathering, style of howdy.

When the Thais do this, it's warm and charming. When this guy does it, it's just plain creepy.

The other cool move is the raised fist. He does this one a lot. Now, I remember growing up in the late sixties and seventies. This had real clear associations with radical causes.

A good friend of mine, Paul Ross, is a Ph. D. psychologist and wrote the following interesting piece on the meaning of these kinds of symbolic gestures and their role in connecting with fellow-travelers.

Communication between individuals and groups includes both the overt and covert means. Language and speech, the spoken and written word and even the selection of images are all part of the message we try to communicate to others. Body
language and gestures are a class of behavior that signal to others something about our intentions. Sometimes this signaling is below the threshold of conscious awareness and sometimes it is a deliberate attempt to provide a nuance to the message. So why is this important in the present political climate?

During the Democrat Party convention, the party candidate ended his speech with a military salute, one recognized by the millions who served in our nation’s services. The gesture, the salute, is a straight hand bent at the elbow with the thumb held in and the index finger touching the forehead. The hand is at about 45 degrees to the vertical plane of the head. He did not salute with the palm facing outward, a British salute, nor did he raise his arm straight out with the hand extended and the palm facing down, a Nazi salute. So, why then in subsequent speeches while stumping around the country, is Kerry is seen raising his hand with a clenched fist? What salute is this and what covert message is imbedded in that salute?

The Clenched Fist Salute is the salute of communists, radicals and Black nationalists. It has a long history and is a subtle means of communication and identification between those who do it and those who recognize it. It’s a way of saying, without saying, I am with you!

So what is Kerry really saying with this salute? Is he trying to form a bond between himself, a rich white guy and the radicals representing the underclass? Is he saying that he is a radical in disguise? Is he communicating with the internationalist and the European left with this gesture? Or is he a guy who just has no ideology and position and adopts the central ideology of whoever he is with at the moment?

While his words are subject to detailed analysis and the apparent flip/flops are evident, so far, little has been said about his latent communication and the implications of that in the context of his flipping and flopping. The people of this nation need to know before election, just who is John Kerry and what is it, that he stands for.

His salutes to different groups, at the very least, suggest a mixed message of identity and pandering. And if not pandering, then what is he really all about?

Kerry's thinking is firmly rooted in his anti-war, liberal experiences from the early seventies. He hasn't changed. His Presidency would reflect the defeatism, anti-Americanism and dangerous internationalism-at-all-costs that ties our fate to interests that desire a weakened United States and a curb on the spread of Western ideas.

Alright. A new post after several days of silence.

This urge to write always hits at about half-an-hour before midnight. Either I'm too tired to follow the inspiration to it's always brilliant conclusion, or I get crackin' and end up with about four hours of sleep.

Just take a look at Regular Guys For Bush. Real men will not vote for Kerry.

To make it a little easier, here's a video that's been going around with John Edwards primping before a TV appearance.

There's also a great bit on Kerry versus the cheesesteak. Seems he asked for "Swiss cheese, Jeeves, and make it imported" at Pat's King of Steaks, the home of the original cheesesteak, normally smothered in Cheese Wiz. You'll need Quicktime to view it.

There are two things that real men always eat: Cheese Wiz, sprayed directly into the mouth, as a quick between-meal snack; and warm beer and cold pizza for breakfast, right after waking up at one in the afternoon after a particularly busy Saturday night.

I just can't see this guy ever being regular.

Here he is diggin' around for a coherent foreign policy.

Bottom line is, if these two disingenuous sissies are elected, I suggest we all start tithing to the NRA and form a militia to defend our way of life.

What are they gonna do to make us "stronger abroad", mince their way into a summit hoping Jacques Chirac and the Al Qaeda camel boys find them too sexy to resist? Otto von Bismarck pursued a policy of "Realpolitik" to unify Germany and secure the country a place as the strongest military and economic power on the continent of Europe. So I guess the Kerry/Edwards contribution to the theory of international affairs will be "Prisspolitik" whereby the entirety of Europe and the Islamic world will be united in thinking we're a bunch of buffoons.

Anyone who votes for these two numskulls is out of their mind!

There, I said it. Now I'm a confirmed, intolerant, right wing asshole.

More tomorrow. Now I'm so riled up it'll take one of Kerry's stump speeches to put me to sleep.

Just a quick note. The differences in the debate tonight were pretty stark. George Bush may not be the ideal Conservative. He's a big spending Chief Executive. Still, next to Kerry, he looks like Alexander Hamilton. There are several things I'd expect to see as Kerry slowly destroyed our economy and weakened the war on terrorism.

An economic slump resulting from an increased minimum wage, higher taxes, greater environmental costs and less business-friendly legislation.
Higher inflation as the country tries to keep up with increased entitlements. The prescription drug benefit is bad enough. Let's not put our most liberal politician in the White House to make things worse.
Demoralization of the military as the war on terror is Vietnamized to a standstill and our strategy reverts to duck-and-cover. Expect to see retention, as well as recruiting, go down, further straining the services.
Increased attacks on the US and our interests around the world as terrorists gain new footholds, particularly in Iran, and become emboldened by Kerry's treatment of the problem as a judicial one.
Increased energy costs as the Democratic administration's lack of resolve brings greater instability to the Middle East.
A weakened Israel in the face of a leftist ideology that treats the Israelis as morally equivalent to the Palestinians. Look for the same attitude regarding the US versus enemy regimes around the world.
The emergence of a nuclear Iran and an increase in the number of North Korean nuclear weapons as well as improvements to delivery systems. A weak Kerry administration, rushing to bilateral talks with the dwarf of Pyongyang, will encourage his export of WMD technologies to other countries. Non-proliferation will become meaningless.

These are only a few of the problems that would result from a Kerry victory.

Neither we, nor the West, can afford to see him win.

In response to a request from judicial Watch to review John Kerry's record and investigate the process under which he was awarded his medals, Admiral Route, the Navy Inspector General declined to proceed "because it would not have been 'productive'".

Sorry Admiral, I disagree. It's hardly your decision to decide what is productive or not when a national election might be at stake.

According to the Judicial Watch site Naval "investigators exhausted their...efforts reviewing a Washington Post article from Aug. 22, 2004, and a Newsweek report from the Aug. 30, 2004, edition. The M.C. Escher of American Politics

Escher was famous for his wonderful illusions that had soldiers marching endlessly up a set of stairs that led to….the bottom of the stairs; motifs that evolved from one shape to another as they moved across the canvass; and played beautiful tricks with perspective. Even carefully tracing the lines of one of his works, it can be difficult to pinpoint the illusion.

We expect it to make sense and, when it doesn’t, our minds struggle to construct a reasonable interpretation. If they can’t, it’s almost painful.

That same feeling comes over me when I listen to the Democratic candidate.

John Kerry’s positions have that same flowing, evolving, impossible-to-pin-down quality. Listening to his answers during the last debate, all I could think was “What the HELL is he talking about?!”

He’s become the master of the qualified “direct” answer. As President, he would protect our freedom to act against threats, but would always consult with the UN and our allies.

Here’s a nice list.

Like Escher’s stair-climbers, John Kerry wants us to believe he’s climbing the tower, steadfast and sure, but every time we blink it looks like he’s taking us back to the bottom again.

His answer last week on abortion was just as bad. He’s against it personally but would never impose his values on the rest of the electorate. In the feel good, value-neutral world of the left and American liberalism, all choices are equally good. To choose is to judge and to judge is wrong. Just goes to show you how empty Kerry is. Every President should have a moral core. I’ll vote for the guy that has one closest to mine. In this election, I’ll vote for the guy who just has one. Period. Since cannibalism, murder, wife-beating and numerous other sins are against my personal moral code, who am I to impose that on those from other, equally valid, cultures who practice them as part of their cultural, religious or social activities? It's Not a Partisan Thing

Colbert King is a liberal columnist in the Washington Post. A few days ago he wrote an interesting piece about John Kerry's service in Vietnam. He starts with

Those who dismiss critics of John Kerry's Vietnam service as just a bunch of right-wing Republicans out to advance George W. Bush's cause don't know what they are talking about -- or they are engaged in wishful thinking.

Surprising words for a Liberal.

He admits to having initially dismissed the Swift Vets as Republican shills. Then he started getting e-mails from Vietnam vets who were unabashedly Democrats. One was "former assistant secretary of the Air Force Rodney Coleman. A Democrat, Coleman has local roots, having worked for the D.C. Council..." Can't get more Democrat than having worked for the DC government.

Mr King quotes Coleman's e-mail:

"When Kerry made those critical statements of the war," Coleman wrote, "my parents, God bless them, went ballistic about their son going in harm's way. My military colleagues in the fellows program who had been there and were shot up were incensed that a so-called military man would engage in such insubordinate actions. At the time Kerry made those unfortunate remarks, America had POWs and MIAs, among them my friend, Colonel Fred Cherry, the longest-held black POW of the Vietnam War. How could a true American fighting man throw away his medals, while thousands he fought alongside of were in the midst of another example of man's inhumanity to man?"

This is the heart of the Swift Boat Vets and their opposition to Kerry. He's flawed. Not just humanly fallible. He's Macbeth flawed, rotten to the core, without the redeeming conscience at the center of a Shakespearean tragedy. That, at least, might leave room to pity him. But not for John Kerry.

Let's just hope he loses and disappears into the political wilderness where he belongs.

OK. This is a political Blog. You let me onto your desktops to partake of pithy, thank you O'Reilly, commentary and clever repartee. At least that's what I let myself think. So, I'm gonna beg your forbearance while I ask you all for a favor.

I've been consulting for the last year and it's been a lot of fun.

Still, I've missed the camaraderie that comes with being part of a corporate team. So, I've decided to return to full-time employment with a good company.

My background is eclectic. It includes operations analysis, engineering, project management, marketing & sales, international business development and freelance writing. I've worked in both commercial and government markets.

There are two directions I'm considering.

The first is Management Consulting working with clients on business processes, strategic planning and resource allocation/risk assessments. That resume is here.

Michael Moore's Underwear

The Detroit Free Press reports that Michael Moore's been offering "underwear, noodles and snacks to college students in exchange for their promise to vote".

Well......

Do you think he offered his own underwear? Maybe as some kind of groupy souvenir? Something to hang on the dorm room wall.

Just send me $10, cash, and I'll have a professional psychic excise that from your memory.

You know, when I was in college, underwear was kind of a low priority. Noodles and snacks would have been pretty high up there. Midshipmen like to eat....and sleep. But underwear?! I think I had one for each day of the week and used the same seven pairs for the entire four year program. By the end, they'd been reduced to waistbands and trace molecules.

Is underwear really something that would motivate college students to vote one way or the other. Anyway, what kind of creepy guy offers a pair of briefs to young kids? How old is Moore anyway? Somewhere in his forties? Close enough. I just don't feel like looking it up. I might happen upon a photo of him and upset my innards.

Anyway, can you imagine sitting in the quad, hangin' with your friends and having Michael Moore walk up to you, wearing a raincoat, and offering you undergarments?

I shudder to imagine.

Love Paris, Hate the French

When I was six, in 1966, my Dad was a US Air Force officer stationed in Germany. My parents, both die-hard romantics always told me about Paris, their favorite city. So, that year we took a trip to that lovely town, me, my sister and our parents. It happened to coincide with Degaulle's decision to throw US forces out of France, accompanied by heated attacks on America. Upon our arrival we hailed a cab, loaded up the trunk with all our bags and started on our way. That is until the little Gaulic shit driving the taxi realized we were Americans. He started shouting, ordered us out of the vehicle and ended up in a shouting match with my father, during which our fecund Frenchman pulled our bags out of the back and threw them into the street and drove off.

We found another ride and had our vacation, but we never forgot the bad treatment.

Now I've had plenty of nice experiences in Paris since and still think it's one of the most beautiful places in the world. It's too bad the French get to live there. They're rude, they stink and, to be honest, I don't like their food that much. A nice onion tart in Alsace is my favorite treat, and that's only sort of French.

So, in honor of that noble breed of collaborators and anti-semites, here's a little joke where one of our own is the hero.

The Euro-Train was quite crowded, so the U. S. Marine walked its entire length looking for a seat, only to find that the last seat left was taken by a well-dressed middle-aged French woman's poodle.

The war-weary Marine asked, "Ma'am, may I have that seat?" The French woman just sniffed and said to no one in particular, "Americans are so rude. My little Fifi is using that seat." The Marine walked the entire train again, but the only seat left was under that dog. "Please, ma'am. May I sit down? I'm very tired.."

She snorted, "Not only are you Americans rude, you are also arrogant!"

This time the Marine didn't say a word, he just picked up the little dog, tossed it out the train window, and sat down. The woman shrieked, "Someone must defend my honor! Put this American in his place!"

An English gentleman sitting nearby spoke up. " Sir, you Americans often seem to have a penchant for doing the wrong thing. You hold the fork in the wrong hand. You drive your autos on the wrong side of the road. And now, sir, you've thrown the wrong bitch out the window!"

I admire the Brits as well.

Iraq, America's Bug Zapper

One of the common criticisms of our toppling of Saddam is that we've increased terror recruitment and those new recruits are now flooding Iraq.

Well, fighting back is bound to inspire an enemy to resist. This is all the same leftist distortion that makes any attempt to defend the US into rabid incitement. A missile shield? No way!! Then the North Korean's will only develop better delivery systems. Uh, but wait, they were already doing that without that pesky defense of our cities.

If only the Israelis would leave the poor Palestinians alone. Well, not really. Just let 'em do whatever they want, and give Yaser money to live on; and provide his people jobs; and make sure his police have enough weapons; and follow Amnesty International guidelines for national suicide.

So, back to Iraq. By the lefty logic, we should never do anything that causes Al Qaida to get excited. Just hide under the covers and wait of the next attack. Then hit back decisively with legal briefs presented to the international court at The Hague.

I think the increased recruitment and terrorist focus on Iraq are good things. First of all, the recruits are worthless without real training and that takes state-sponsorship and lots of resources to do it right. If they're going to fight us, then make it expensive. Second, it's a lot better to have these killers running headlong into the return fire of US soldiers than heading for downtown Manhattan. Iraq is a killing ground. Bad guys are dying by the thousands and we're still managing to build back some semblance of Iraqi sovereignty.

I just see this very dangerous trend from Kerry, the Democrats and the press to replay Tet '68 by turning a massive US victory into a defeat simply because the enemy was able to launch an offensive in the first place. Let's just ignore the fact that the Vietcong were militarily annihilated and were never again a factor in the war. It took the regular army of North Vietnam to conquer Saigon.

Now there's no equivalent in Iraq. There's no conventional army ready to move in and engage the US or Iraqi forces effectively.

This is an old fashioned war for public opinion which the left is all too willing to aid and abet.

Kerry Won! So what!!

Yep, Kerry was more articulate and showed a fair command of facts and figures, coming across as a more polished debater than the President. So, who gives a damn. Kerry still flip-flopped on Iraq. Was the war a mistake and, at the same time, necessary to disarm Saadam? He's still too much nuance and too little conviction. Bush came across with more conviction, but in his now familiar down-home package. He's everyman facing off the enemies of America. It's Tru-man the Republi-can!! Al Qeada doesn't give a shit about our choice of words. They'd like to see Kerry in their to prolong this war througfh useless negotiations, legalistic resolutions and "global tests".

Let's do a little simple disection of the Kerry plan for Iraq. We need more allied troops. Say, 200,000. But, we need to bring the US burden down from 90% to 40%. So, we need our allies to cough up about 120,000 soldiers, minus the roughly 10,000 that the British and Australians have over there. Who out there can put 110,000 troops on the ground? Well, none of our European "friends". And the Chinese and Indians aren't going to do it.

So, what exactly does Johnny boy expect? He'll work his charms on Chirac and Schroeder and they'll essentially commit their entire active duty combat arms to helping the great hegemon in the "great diversion"? Not a chance.

Let's face it. The military burden of fighting terrorist regimes and protecting the free world will remain a US one. We're the only country with the resources and, hopefully, the will to do so.

Kerry might have won on style, but the polls show Bush winning on substance. Americans know that success in the war depends on commitment and the will to win. Bush projects those qualities. Kerry's nuanced approach only emphasizes his indecisiveness. The voters see it.

Nuance is fine in the internal policy debate. However, the essence of effective governance, and management for that matter, is turning complex issues into clear, easily defined objectives. Brevity is the real test of our communications and analytical skills.

Don't these morons understand that for soldiers in combat, morale is a matter of life and death.

Can you imagine a 1942 film bemoaning our losses at Midway and Bataan, with images of American prisoners, half-naked and exhausted, and a call for withdrawal followed by peace talks with Tojo and his generals. After all, we brought it on ourselves. We embargoed shipments of scrap-metal and oil to Japan. They only bombed Pearl Harbor in self-defense. We need to focus on why they're angry at us. We need to fight a more "sensitive" war against Fascism. After all, this was their choice of sovereign government. Doolittle's raid on Tokyo has only enraged the Japanese people and hurt innocent civilians. Now young asians are flocking in droves to join the fight against our racist and imperialist war. In fact, we should call for an investigation of our planning process. Doolitle and the other raiders should be considered for court-martial, once the few survivors make it out of China.

Memogate and the Religion of Peace

Faith-Based Journalism

Dan Rather continues to insist that the Air National guard memos impuning President Bush's service are real.

At the same time, the evidence of forgery continues to mount. There are numerous reports of folks retyping the memos in Microsoft Word and recreating them exactly, including line wrap-arounds, fonts, and the proportional spacing between letters. On Fox News last night, Brit Hume played a video of one of these overlaid on the original and the match was perfect.

Even if Bush's squadron had a typewriter capable of producing the infamous superscripted "th", the odds of all of these oddities coming together simultaneously are about the same as having a '59 Buick spontaneously appear in your kitchen. The latest quantum interpretations of time and space may say that such events are possible, but they're highly improbable. Maybe a million monkeys, typing on a million typewriters, for a million years could produce those memos, but I don't think they were in the Texas Air National Guard in 1973. Our trusty simians were busy reproducing the works of Shakespeare in some alternate universe where John Kerry actually earned his medals and John Edwards donated his fees to the poor.

Still, Dan Rather and CBS continue to believe, no matter what a growing legion of experts throw at them. That, my friends, is not investigative journalism. It's pure faith: a "belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence", according to Dictionary.com. Now faith can be a wonderful thing. Faith in your spouse can lead to a better marriage. Faith in yourself can help you overcome obstacles along the way. Faith in a benevolent creator can make the world a better place. On the other hand, misguided faith can lead to disaster.

Dan Rather seems to have plenty of the latter. He has faith in his still unidentified sources. He has faith in the fealty, judgment and fitness of John Kerry to be our President. He apparently has enough faith in the venality of George Bush that it easily trumps his journalistic integrity.

Well, I don't share Dan's religion. Neither do most Americans. Only 27% according to a recent poll.

If CBS is so arrogant as to demand our trust without verification, then the demise of the "main stream media" is closer than ever.

Religion of Peace

A Muslim cleric in Great Britain has endorsed taking children hostage to further the goals of the Islamofascists. Why is this maniac still on the loose and giving interviews to the British press?

The article refers to him as an extremist. Extreme compared to what? I won't believe he's out of the mainstream until there are thousands of Muslims, in major cities around the world, marching, carrying signs and loudly denouncing this kind of talk. Atrocity after atrocity committed by their Muslim brothers, and hardly a word in protest, just excuses.

We're Not Invited

Take a look at Michelle Malkin's site. There's a widely reported story about Muslims in New Jersey renting Six Flags on a Friday when the park is normally closed. Only Muslims will be allowed in to this "Great Muslim Adventure Day". Other groups have had similar events, but always permitted outsiders to attend.

Just curious, but how are they going to maintain the purity of the park population for they day. Will everyone showing up at the gates have to make a statement of Shahada declaring their faith in Allah and Mohammed? Can you convert for the day just to get in? What if you change your mind once the park closes? Will you be declared an apostate and be pursued by Islamic death squads for the rest of your life? Seems like a high price just to ride the Great American Scream Machine".

I think I'll pass. But I do resent the double standard.

Vichy McPeak

General Merrill A. McPeak, for those of you not familiar with his background, is a retired general in the US Air Force. He had a distinguished career as a fighter pilot, fought honorably over Vietnam, held numerous senior positions and rose to become the Chief of Staff.

He now supports John Kerry's candidacy for President of the United States.

Just for the record, let's review what we know about John Kerry.

John Kerry served a year on the USS Gridley, of which five weeks were spent in the vicinity of Vietnam, far off the coast. He now claims this as his first "tour". Kerry then spent four months assigned to swift boats, during which time he spent one month in training and three months in action. According to almost every man that served with him, he exhibited cowardice, engaged in self-serving lies, and managed to win three Purple Hearts, a Silver Star and a Bronze Star based on his own disingenuous accounts of what happened on the rivers of the Mekong Delta.

He then returned from Vietnam and accused American soldiers, sailors, airmen, their commanders and the US government of committing atrocities "reminiscent of the armies of Genghis Khan". He admitted to committing such atrocities himself.

These comments were used by the North Vietnamese as they attempted to coerce similar confessions out of hundreds of brave American prisoners of war. There's no doubt his actions contributed greatly to the emotional and physical suffering of these men.

At the same time, Kerry was founding the Vietnam Veterans Against the War, the VVAW. In that capacity he likely witnessed discussions of a plot to assassinate congressional supporters of the war. He also traveled to Paris for meetings with representatives of North Vietnam. There is evidence that he and his fellow VVAW scum betrayed the US by coordinating their actions with the North Vietnamese to weaken our war effort while our troops were still engaged on the ground and in the air. This bolstering of Communist resolve undoubtedly contributed to additional American deaths on the ground.

John Kerry did all of this while still a commissioned officer in the US Naval Reserve.

If these acts had been committed by any citizen of this country, they would be despicable. That they were committed by an officer in the United States' armed forces is beyond the pale. It's a betrayal of every notion that honorable men and women hold dear. John Kerry should be a convicted criminal, not a candidate for Commander-in-Chief of the very military he slandered as a young officer and tried to eviscerate as the most liberal member of the Senate for 20 years.

So, here's the rub. General McPeak, by supporting John Kerry, has put himself in the same category as those French generals in 1940 who threw their lot in with Marshall Petain and the collaborators of Vichy. He spits on the very men he served with in Southeast Asia; dishonors the men and women fighting, and dying, today in Iraq and Afghanistan; and legitimizes the treasonous actions of people like John Kerry, Jane Fonda, Tom Hayden and so may others who are icons of the blame-America-first left.

Merrill McPeak has no honor. There's no greater indictment than that.

The Anti Choice Left

As I read Tim Robbin’s whiny missive on the “unfairness” of being called to account for his public anti-war position, it occurred to me that the left is very quick to defend their own right to make any public declaration, no matter how egregious, while they take every opportunity to deny any number of choices to everyone else.

Every America has the right to states his views, no matter how onerous they may be. By the same token, the rest of us have every right to refuse to listen. How best to refuse to listen to an actor, actress, writer or artist? Don’t go to their plays, pay to see their movies, buy their books or hang their pictures on your wall. That’s our choice.

Don’t silence them! That wouldn’t be right. That would put us at the same level as the leftist fanatics that prevented Benjamin Netanyahu from speaking at Berkley. Remember that? What a fine example of advocating choice and freedom of expression, eh? I don't want to shout them down. I just don't want to give them my money.

Why is the left so ready to label a conservative boycott of their artistic products as “McCarthyism”, when the examples of similar leftist actions are so common? They reserve to themselves the decision for politically motivated action, but would deny it to their opponents?

Why do they condemn Nike for using inexpensive labor in Central America and Asia, refusing to buy that company’s products, without considering the denial of choice they are foisting on the poor laborers that see American companies as a way to achieve a higher standard of living?

What about school choice? The left, in the thrall of the teachers’ unions, opposes vouchers that give poor American families the choice to send their kids to far better schools than the products of Great Society socialism that pass for centers of education in our inner cities.

And taxes? President Bush is advocating tax cuts that will give most of us, not just the very rich, a choice in how we spend our hard earned dollars. Where are the liberals on that one? Stupid question. They’re against it, drumming up the same old, tired, class warfare arguments, whereby the middle class magically ascends to the status of “rich”.

How about Augusta? Are the screeching shrews of NOW at all interested in protecting the free choice allowed a private club in deciding who should be counted among its members? Never in a thousand years.

Let’s not forgot the Second Amendment. Everything the liberal anti-gun lobby can do to restrict our choice in that arena is being done. Heaven forbid we allow common, law-abiding, citizens to choose to own a firearm.

Did I say “heaven forbid”? Excuse me, that’s another choice the left would rather we not exercise. Can’t choose to worship the god of your choice, at least not in public. Might offend an atheist, who is, of course, allowed to choose to be an atheist and shove it in our faces.

I don’t even have room here for all the cases of political-correctness-run-amuck on our college campuses where conservative students and faculty are restricted from the free expression of their opinions by the very same tactics that Tim Robbins is pinning on the right.

What about the city employee in Norfolk, Virginia who was told to take an American flag off his wall, while our troops fought their way to Baghdad, because it was a partisan political statement? Where was his choice? It’s not as if he put up a picture of Hitler and started wearing a swastika armband. Apparently some liberals liken pride in Old Glory to latent Fascism.

The left, epitomized by Tim Robbins, condemns choice; unless it is their choice, in which case it is, logically, no choice at all for those who disagree with them.

At the core of their reasoning is an elitist ideology that claims first, and only, right to the truth. They know what is best! They know what is right! They define the moral high ground! The rest of us are peasants, slouching Neanderthals, which have to be guided by our betters, the moral purists who elevate the hypocritical liar Michael Moore and the pedophile Roman Polansky to the status of cultural icons. They’re joined by their fellow travelers, who gleefully call for the deaths of our own soldiers, while sitting in the comfortable safety of the halls of Columbia University.

The only choice the left feels comfortable with is a woman’s right to choose abortion. Here the liberals swan dive right off the cliff of reason onto the sharp rocks of ideological extremism. They’re so far gone on this one that the California chapter of NOW issued a letter apologizing to Scott Peterson for being indicted for a double murder; his unborn, full-term, son being the second victim. So desperate are they to maintain the choice to kill, that they’ll choose sides with a man who may very well have brutally murdered his pregnant wife and his own child. They have since stepped back from that appalling position, but only under intense public pressure. Any psychologist will tell you that the first response to a question is the most honest.

So, except for abortion, the liberal left despises choice. By extension, they despise all of us, the American mainstream. What did Michael Moore say from the podium at the Academy Awards? “We are against this war.” Which “we” was he referring to? It wasn’t my “we”. I’m sure, in his little mind, it was the American people, in spite of support for the war topping 70% at the time. Of course, what do polls mean? That’s only the people’s opinion, the clouded reasoning of the duped masses. The “real” America, meaning whoever goes to the same cocktail parties as Michael Moore and Tim Robbins, holds the Golden Scepter of Truth, handed down to them by the same group of traitorous yahoos that touted the joys of living under Stalin in the thirties.

Here we are giving the Iraqi people the first real choice they’ve had in their history. A million Shiites have been marching in Karballa for the first time in thirty years. They’re exercising so much choice that they even feel free to condemn our “occupation” in the face of a massive military presence. We, of course, are allowing them to finally act as free citizens.

You know what? This nation of ours, under the leadership of George W. Bush, has so effectively seized the moral high ground that all the left can do is sputter, squeal and whine.

We’ve demonstrated what real choice is.
